The path through life isn’t always an easy one. We all have a
measure of difficulty and strife in front of us. And if there’s a comfort to be
found there it’s from the fact that it’s a mostly level playing ground. To be
sure, some people start out with more advantages than others. But most of us
don’t have to face too much that’s outside the experiences of most of our peers.
And that makes it easy to forget that there’s a whole other side to the world.
It’s easy to make assumptions just because we have a similar range of
opportunity to others. But we often forget that there’s still a significant
amount of people for whom that’s not the case. What’s more, it’s easier than
most people assume to go from the level playing field to a far more difficult
